At Lycée Ermesinde we like to celebrate Luxembourg’s cultural and linguistic diversity. English has become a lingua franca in everyday life and an asset in the job market. In addition to informal learning outside the classroom, which we encourage and foster, every student at our school has English lessons from 7e onwards. Many students choose to further improve their proficiency in the language by writing their “travail personnel” or their “mémoire” in English.

Peer-learning is a fundamental component of our English lessons. Particularly motivated students are given opportunities to share their passion, animate lessons, bring in material and assist the teacher. This makes for a lively and interactive learning atmosphere in which our students learn to communicate in a more authentic and effective way.

Besides these everyday activities, students are introduced to a variety of writing tasks, which increase in complexity each term.
