Tykhon Cherniaiev has been playing chess since he was just 3 and a half years old. He was introduced to the game by his father, and at first, he simply enjoyed the interesting names of the chess pieces.
Between the ages of five and seven, Tykhon realized that he had a real talent for the game.
His advice to young chess players who want to improve is to stay consistent and always look for ways to get better.
Tykhon attends the LEM school because the government selected it for him based on his test results. He practices chess for one to three hours every day and has a small pre-game tradition: he always drinks water before each match. He also studies and observes many games from other chess players.
For Tykhon, everything about chess is exciting. He loves that there is always room for improvement and endless possibilities to explore. In his free time, he enjoys sports, exercising, and playing video games.
Tykhon has already achieved an impressive list of accomplishments. He won his first tournament at the age of five and became the World Champion in the under-10 category at just eight years old.
We wish Tykhon the best of luck in his future chess career!
